Grimal Grove

Patrick Garvey, owner and director of Grimal Grove, began his work in local agriculture in 2010 while working for the government. He created an edible gardening initiative within the Food Stamp program. He called it the Growing Hope Initiative, and subsequently formed a non profit, using that name, to empower marginalized populations in growing their own food. He created several programs in South Florida, and began working closely with farms in the Homestead area.

In 2013 he purchased and began to re-create the historic Grimal Grove in Big Pine Key. The Grimal Grove is a hybrid farm-park and has over 100 species of fruit trees. In addition he recently formed a distribution company that sources additional produce form Homestead farms, as well as a fruit tree consultation and brokering business.
